River Raid Scarf

Lets start a little series, a series about retro games. Some time ago, we had the Hero scarf in our blog.

Now behold the latest entry in the retro video game hall of fame: the River Raid scarf!
This 8-bit beauty comes with all you can demand for a real retro video game scarf: complete setup, level border and even an explosion(!) included.

I loved this game, played it on Sony and Philips MSX2 computers. back in the mid 80s. Football scarves of course existed back then, but not in this graphic perfection. 8-bit glory scarf, we love you!

Bomb design scarf

Nope, this football scarf design is no instruction on building an actual bomb.

It’s rather a design bomb, going off when wearing it around your neck, and everyone comes up to you, clapping your shoulder and saying: “Well done, this is a hell of a bomb desing scarf”. Or at leat something like that. Leave the house as a real bomberman fan.

Nicely done bomb icon on a red scarf. Colors of course can be edited, so this explosive scarf is about to go off on a background of your choice, whether it be green, blue or black.

Does anyone remember the early MSX Bomberman Game?

Crime scene scarf

Have you arrived at a crime scene lately, and no yellow crime scene tape was available?

Just wrap it around your neck, and you will have it with you at your next crime scene situation. Help yourself with this nice neckwarmer in yellow and black, or give it to a police detective or officer in need. They will surely appreciate your help. Just make sure you will get it back after crime scene  investigation.

Just in case some rubbernecks are too nosy: this scarf variation may be even more convincing, and no need to say this, but Halloween is not too far away.

Video game scarves

If you’re a football fan, you will probably love to design a football scarf with your team’s colors and logo. Well, most of the designs we get revolve around sports like soccer, football, rugby, to name just a few.

But make sure to take the name “football scarf” with a grain of salt, because there are a lot of other scarf design ideas out there that have to be knitted in a custom scarf. Video game scarves for example: retro 8-bit designs are destined to be knitted, as the number of colors in a scarf is limited, just as in the early days of computer graphics. Yes, kids, that was before “High definition”, 3D and even before VGA.

So how about your own thermal neck wrap with pixel images and words, knitted in a personal scarf? Start your design today, and wear it as a football fan or retro video game lover. And never mind the name “football scarf”.

Put your text or design here – allover the scarf

There actually are a few scarf manufacturers that offer to make your custom scarf at the comfort of your own home. But the point we want to make in this post is that the classical football or soccer scarf is with good cause a knitted one. Period.

Printed scarves may have more colors, embroidered scarves may be good for very small and detailed logos. But the real deal for footy, soccer and football fans is the knitted scarf.

It will first of all keep you warm in winter (or the English summer). Also it will give you a warm feeling around your rough neck, And what is most important in terms of scarf design creation: the whole scarf can bear your design, logo, team name etc.

We’d like to illustrate this with this graphic here:

When taking this design to the knitting machine, the scarf will come out something like this:

For the colors of course, it is up to you if you want the design in black and white, red and blue or red, green white. In any case, you can use the whole space allover.
