New random features: soccer scarves with cliparts

We have further pimped the random scarves page. New features included now:

  • More design types
  • Support for color schemes: certain color combinations are less probable to show up. Other cominations should appear more often.
  • Cliparts support: Random display of cliparts on the scarf edges. These cliparts are not part of the background design, thus will be randomly combined with all possible designs. Beautiful!

See some soccer scarf examples with cliparts here:

Next thing up: adding random text support for english language.

Fandom scarves

What is a fandom scarf? Until recently, I thought this is just another word for fan scarf, football scarf or soccer scarf. Actually, it sounded like a rather bad translation to me, and I assumed that this term is not widely used.

But I have learned that fandom scarves are banners that you can put on your blog or fan page to represent your various fandoms, such as Harry Potter houses, Hunger Games districts, Games of Thrones noble houses etc. There are pretty nice designs for a lot of fandom pages.

So if you are into that, why not do a real fandom scarf that you can wear and show (not only online, but offline, too)? Most of the designs can be knitted easily. Start at Wildemasche.com or let’s be inspired with a random scarf design.

How to save a soccer scarf design

In this post, we will show you how to save an unfinished soccer scarf design.

Many customers want to add a logo to their soccer scarf design, but don’t know how to do it. Watching this tutorial video may help. But for some team logos, this can be a difficult thing to do still, so you might want to leave this to our experts.
So if you have already started to edit a design template, added text or cliparts to the design, changed colors, the best thing is to send the unfinished design along with the original logo.

You can save the design by clicking on the button with the floppy disk on the top right. This lets you save the design as PNG image file on your computer. Then email it to us, together with the original logo.

Please note: the design file is flattened when saved as PNG, all elements (textboxes, cliparts and other elements) are merged with the background. The design can still be edited, but only with the pen tool.

The second way to save the design is to put it in the cart (top right button in the Online Designer).

In the cart, click on “Show design”, and the soccer scarf design will open in a popup window. Click in the image to save the file, and email it. This is how the popup with the design looks like:

Please do not send the preview image. This is supposed to show you how the ready knitted scarf will look like. Changes to the design cannnot be made in this rendered preview, but only in the design file.

River Raid Scarf

Lets start a little series, a series about retro games. Some time ago, we had the Hero scarf in our blog.

Now behold the latest entry in the retro video game hall of fame: the River Raid scarf!
This 8-bit beauty comes with all you can demand for a real retro video game scarf: complete setup, level border and even an explosion(!) included.

I loved this game, played it on Sony and Philips MSX2 computers. back in the mid 80s. Football scarves of course existed back then, but not in this graphic perfection. 8-bit glory scarf, we love you!
